What is TransferForge?
TransferForge is a migration tool that helps WordPress developers convert their sites from Oxygen Classic (4.x) to the new Oxygen 6 format — without rebuilding everything from scratc
Why do I need a converter for Oxygen 6?
Oxygen 6 is a complete rebuild of the builder.
Unfortunately:
- It does not support copy/pasting JSON from Oxygen 4.x
- Styles now rely on UUID-based class selectors
- Old elements like sections, divs, and columns must be rebuilt with new structures
TransferForge helps you bridge that gap by translating your Oxygen Classic exports into a format Oxygen 6 understands.
Can I just copy and paste elements between Oxygen versions?
No — Oxygen 6 does not accept copy/paste from Oxygen Classic.
There is no built-in fallback, and your existing JSON exports will not work.

That’s exactly why TransferForge exists — to do the translation for you.
What does TransferForge convert?
We help convert:
- Your section and element structure
- Class names and style rules
- Global styles (in development)
- Layouts built using Oxygen Classic’s standard copy/paste JSON format
What do I need to use TransferForge?
We require that you install the free Hydrogen Paste plugin on your Classic Oxygen site.
Why? It provides the keyboard shortcuts needed to copy JSON from Oxygen Classic, which Oxygen itself doesn’t support natively.
Does TransferForge support other page builders?
Not yet — but it’s on our roadmap.
TransferForge is built with future expandability in mind, so Bricks, Breakdance, and others are absolutely in our sights.
Breakdance is near completion and will be part of our next major release.
Will this work for complex layouts or repeaters?
We’re actively testing complex structures like repeaters, conditions, and dynamic data.
These features will be rolled out in stages, and early users will get access first — and help us shape the roadmap.
Is this a plugin I install?
Yes. TransferForge is a WordPress plugin.
Originally developed as a standalone tool, we transitioned to a plugin format to handle the complexities of Oxygen 6 — especially the need to map and maintain UUID-based class selectors.

Running TransferForge as a plugin allows us to:
- Access real UUIDs directly from your Oxygen database
- Preserve class relationships and layout structure more reliably
- Prevent conflicts or duplication during migration
The plugin approach ensures cleaner, more accurate conversions than clipboard-based tools alone.
